ASCA CLIMB-A-THON PARTICIPANT INFORMATION
Thanks for joining the American Safe Climbing Association (ASCA) and Planet Granite in our ASCA Climb-A-Thon.
When/Where:
Saturday June 27th at PG San Francisco, 1pm - 4pm
Saturday July 18th at PG Sunnyvale, 1pm - 4pm
Climbers are welcome to participate in either or both of the events. You will need to bring your own belayer! If you don’t have one, let us know and we can try to match folks up before the event.
Details and goals of the event: A Climb-A-Thon is just like any other “A-Thon” fundraiser, except the participants will be climbing vertical feet to reach their goals! Participants can work in teams or individually. You set the goal and raise the money. Your friends and family who sponsor you can donate a flat fee, for example $20, or do a “per foot” climbed sponsorship. Every participant who raises $100 will receive a free ASCA t-shirt. There will also be other prizes and fun activities, such as prizes for the most vertical feet climbed. The event is followed by BBQ; beer for participants and their belayers.
Donations:
Sign up now with online donations, or pick up a Sponsor Packet at your local Planet Granite.
You must fill out separate sponsor pages and collect separate donations for each event.
Donations are due within 1 week of the day of the event:
- June 27th (SF) donations are due by Friday, July 3rd
- July 18th (Sunnyvale) donations are due by Friday, July 24th
Note: If possible, bring any of your collected donations the day of the event. Many people may wish to donate a flat fee, regardless of the number of feet you climb.
Time: Both events will have climbing from 1-4 p.m. followed by free BBQ; Beer for participants.
Fundraising Goal: The goal is to raise a total of $10,000 from both events. Planet Granite will match up to $10,000 raised from these combined events, resulting in $20,000 raised for the ASCA!
Additional Climber Benefit:
Participants who raise more than $100 will also receive a free ASCA T-Shirt.

- Most money raised
- most vertical feet climbed by one person*
- most vertical feet climbed by a team*
