USA Climbing Bouldering Local Competition
Planet Granite San Francisco
SUNDAY October 25th 2015
We're excited to announce that we will be hosting a USA Climbing Bouldering competition on Sunday October 25th , at our Planet Granite San Francisco facility.
** Please note that there will be a few differences in this competition versus other bouldering competitions because this will be piggy-backing on our local community Bloc Party competition which takes place on Saturday, October 24th. The same boulder problems will be used for our local USA Climbing Bouldering competition on Sunday October 25th.
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE PAGE - there is very important information below.
There will be a few races and events happening in the Presidio the day of the competition so please arrive early for the competition. Unlike last year, there will be no road closures or parking restrictions.USAClimbing Logo

There are barbecue pits by the picnic area (first come first serve). Bring or rent bikes at Sports Basement (and ride to Fisherman's Wharf or across the Golden Gate Bridge. Or visit the Exploratorium on the way out. Also, most of the competition routes are separate from the sport climbing area - so non-competitors can pay the day fee and climb!
TOP ROPING & LEAD CLIMBING: With 45 foot high walls, leadable cracks and tons of top roping, PG SF has amazing terrain in route climbing as well! For those interested in climbing routes, please read the following:

Belayers with prior belay experience that are new to Planet Granite must complete a belay test in order to belay at Planet Granite. Belayers must be 14 years or older. Staff are not available to belay without prior reservation.
Lead Belaying & Climbing: A PG Lead Climbing & Belaying certification is required in our gyms. Climbers and Belayers must be at least 16 years old to Lead Climb/Belay in our gym.
